About GAPS system

First of all, GAPS (Acronym of Gottberg Auto Parts Supply) system is;

• Segment A Genuine parts (Genuine parts＋Genuine package)
• Segment B OEM parts (Genuine parts＋OEM maker package)
• Segment C Quality-guaranteed parts from another company (Quality-guaranteed parts from another company＋Maker package from another company）
• Segment D Accessory product

We deal in those 4 major products listed above. We will deliver products to our clients for each order after purchasing the products from our quality suppliers with our excellent know-how and sufficient experience. The products will be packed locally and shipped to our company as a single consolidated cargo. The products will be processed through customs and then delivered to our clients. In short, this is a system by which we unify the local exit port and entrance port in Japan and drastically reduce costs and fees for shipping and customs in order to provide a variety of product price lines at a low price.

Delivery period by GAPS system

If you order a locally available product between Monday and Wednesday, the product will be delivered to you by air on Wednesday or Thursday the following week. If you order a product on Thursday or Friday, the product will be delivered to you on Wednesday or Thursday in the week after next. If your product requires a delivery by sea, it will take 2 or 3 months. We can promptly follow up and track any delivery order, if products have to be delivered separately or there are any defects found from them, we do have a regular air delivery service once every weekend and a regular shipping service 3 or 4 times a month.

• How we reduce cost by GAPS system

  We consolidate products in the local spot of purchase, and deliver them with our original delivery system, without going through another local delivery company. This is how we keep our price low by cutting off margins of cost and choosing a right supplier to purchase depending on each product.

• Any order is available even for only one bolt

  We import a number of products ordered by many clients by our consolidated cargo, so that we do not have any minimum limit on the number of orders or the amount of price on each order. We totally welcome any order ever for a single bolt.

• How we reduce fixed cost

  All the fixed costs such as delivery fees and customs fees will be divided proportionally for each cargo depending on the amount of product clients ordered. This is how we can keep the cost low and provide our products at a low price.

• Import on an order basis

  We import products based on our client orders, therefore we almost never have any risk on inventory at our company. This is also our way to keep cost low and provide our products at the lowest price as possible.

• Return of currency exchange profit

  We calculate cost price of each imported product based on the exchange rate at the time for each cargo, and work out the actual price including our service charge, instead of standardizing our market price as deducting a certain percent of amount off Japanese common market price. Therefore, all the profit originated from currency exchange will be return to you.

• Real easy trade as home trade

  We will take care of all the procedure for international trade and do shipping paid by the shipper. We will simply charge you for a product and delivery only, so that it is a really easy trade as if you are doing home trade.

When a product is available in stock in Japan

We have had a long business relationship and been affiliated with major automobile dealers and automobile parts/ products distributers in Japan, since our founder was in Germany. We can deliver a product anywhere in Japan within a couple of days, if the product is in their stock.

When a product is not available in stock in Japan

We have GAPS express system available for you. It may cost some extra charge, however a product will be delivered on the ordered date if the product is in stock at the local spot. However, the delivery period will be slightly different depending on what day you order, the product will usually be delivered within 3 or 4 days.
